Really: we run a cam webmaster program which also offers PPS (i.e. $80 per pay user, even if deposited just $10) and lately we're getting lots of PPS frauds of the type described below, this is because in some blackhat and hackish forums this is explained as a method to fraud and many are applying it. So I wanted to share.
Normally you get the PPS fraudster because he starts to make a dozen signups quickly which is noticed quickly as suspicious.
The evil part of the method it is to make many different affiliate accounts, one every 2-3 days, with different emails and IP addresses, let these run 3-15 days sending some cheap trafficholder / trafficshop etc. hits before to make themselves a PPS signup (total cost: $10, with stolen card or friend's card is worth anyway). They also require different payment methods (or we could detect it is the same guy), usually they ask anonymous ones like webmoney, egopay, perfectmoney etc. (which we do support for payouts), since that's easier than to make many payoneer's, paxum's etc., but they also can offer a % to friends who use own paxum's or else address as payout options.
Rest of the fraud is as usual: they send cheap blind redirect hits from sitex.com , so to have ratio 1:something believable, then create an account with same http referrer sitex.com so it looks like comes from within such traffic, make a $10 or cheapest sale, get $80 pps, switch to next account the day after do $80 pps and so on, if the guy got 5-10 accounts he can do nice $$ per period, but each account does like 1 sale only per period which goes stealth under the radar's.
Since the above method is in blackhat/hack forums anyway I believe I didn't teached anything really new, but I wanted to share with fellow PPS program managers as you may have some of those guys infiltrated.
