Republicans want this so badly because it's going to make some their friends very rich.
It's not creating many long term jobs. It's a pork project that will put money in a few people's pocket, destroy some land and keep us relying on fossil fuels longer.
You can bet if conservatives want something, it sucks ass and only benefits them. When have they ever wanted to do something that helps anyone?
