Couple of things. Go to the HP website and see if there are firmware updates for your bios. Next check to see if the graphic driver is the latest version. HP is very good at keeping things updated and their website is very user friendly.
You might check to see what programs are being loaded at startup as there tend to be more and more added as you use your computer.
You might defrag your hard drive as that can also slow down seek times when loading programs and data.
