Of course. I am just saying that anytime you buy a domain, regardless of extension, if it's not paying for itself after a year, then you are the reason for that. And that was my point to the OP, if you are not making double the reg fee from it, and no plans to do anything with it, then there's no point keeping it (unless it's a future investment).
That's just the benchmark I have for myself at renewal time. If, by the time a domain renews, I am not making double the renewal fee, then I'll likely just let it expire. Every asset must pay for itself in some aspect or it's no longer worth anything to me.
