Either way, landing on a splash page should be promoting more content, should it not?

HI
No, I am talking about having a surfer land on an ENTER or EXIT page after coming from a video or photo gallery. They have to click in to the tour or bounce away.
Its better if the surfer clicks onto the home of the tour and goes from there and NOT on the ENTER or EXIT.
We recently had a sponsor make this change to enter or exit and 40-45 sales per month went to 50%.
