Look at what was going on in the world when they were in power compared to what Harper has had to deal with after the 2008 economic meltdown. Compared to most other countries Canada came out smelling like a rose, except maybe in Ontario where liberal anti-business policies have factory jobs disappearing quicker than Justin Trudeau's mother at a Stone's concert.

Coming in with a surplus a year ahead of original scheduled seems like pretty good work to me.
