Yeah, i think it would be good. Give generations of kids something to dream of. Imagine a large dome society there, where you could go and spend 1-2 years working on various projects. They could bore out and build in existing canyons and dome it up. Create humungous greenhouses and even have cattle and chickens and other such animals to provide food.
I bet science and technology would leapfrog forward again if we undertook such a project.
