But beyond that, the "savings" are bullshit. At best, Black Friday is a hoax to relieve retail inventory of last years models so they can make room on the shelves for the Holiday Inventory. But worse than that many retailers have special "Black Friday" items that are one letter different than the popular item's model # and missing some of the usual features, making them easy to mark down, and if fact impossible to sell at the normal retail pricepoint. Consumers are so busy fighting over the inventory they never really take a good look at it.

They are offering lost leaders. Not a huge scam as I think most people udnerstand that. Then other stores are offering whole store discounts. Hard for that to be a "scam."
