It doesn't matter what they think you do for a living. What matters is that they know you and you're obviously no capitalizing on that.

Let's put it this way, how much are you making currently? I'd venture a guess around $100K-120K/year, base salary, commision and affiliate income combined. And considering the current state of the industry I may even be generous.

Does that make for a reasonably comfortable living? Probably. But if it's true that everyone in your town knows you, then you could be at $40K-$50K A MONTH within a year or less. Then double that within another year, with only some moderate effort. If you did it right, of course.
