Do you really think congressmen from states who benifit from oil or coal are going to opt to follow some UN mandate? No they are gonna run to fox news and yell at the top of their lungs that the UN is trying g to take over America..

Bingo.

So then by this argument, it's ok to keep polluting, and make everyone's lives more miserable? Come on..
What would you do one day if you found out the water from your tap was polluted, and your only source of clean drinking water for you and your family had to be purchased? What if local industry were poisoning the land and water near you, making your family sick, and were getting away with it?

Of course the Sun (and the moon) impact weather, and those are things we can do nothing about. But CO2 and Methane affect the weather too, and smoke and soot affect the air you breathe, and these are some things you CAN do something about.

What about land owners in Miami and other coastal areas? What about New York and New Jersey? Do you live on a mountain top? If not, are you a home owner in an uninhabitable environment? And if not, surely you have friends and family that live near rivers or coastlines. Do you not care about them?

No, not at all. There is nothing we can do to prevent a Volcano from erupting. Plus, science tells us when a volcano is active and predicts very well when they are going to erupt, giving people time to get out of the way. Now, science is telling us that something bad is going to happen soon unless we do something. Are you smart enough to get out of the way? Or should we let big companies who profit from the very causes of these problems to ignore science?

But my argument would still be the same. If science tells us that one is going to hit us one day, there might be a way to nudge it onto a different course and avoiding disaster.

SOME humans will be fine, but millions will lose their home or die. Farms will be flooded, and costs of all kinds will spiral out of control. If all the ice covering Antarctica, Greenland, and in mountain glaciers around the world were to melt, sea level would rise about 70 meters (230 feet). The ocean would cover all the coastal cities. And land area would shrink significantly.
