It's better than shooting kids and causing chaos and needless destruction to communities and businesses as a result..
These guys are not smart.. Most of them are below average IQ or they wouldn't be beat cops in the first place..
So engage first would make it clear as day. Did the kid even point it at them? Or just go for it?
I do some what blame the kid for not listening to police to put his hands up. Or not shouting "it's just a toy".
Still if you are a cop you are a peace keeper.. Your job is not to shoot anyone and everyone you think might have a weapon.
If any Joe citizen shot this kid under the same assumption they would be charged with murder.
In the Mike Brown case I agree with the officers actions. In this one I do not.
