People confuse the legal burden of proof that the government has to prove an accused guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and extend the same burden when it comes to public opinion. The criminal justice system errs strongly on the side of the accused in the belief that it's better that 100 guilty men go free than 1 innocent man loses his freedom.
Of course in this case we have heard no evidence at all, but I think 'where there's smoke there's fire' does apply when you know who and what Donny is. He is not some unknown.
However this plays out, being found 'not guilty' doesn't mean 'innocent'.
