Most can't pass the background, psychological,polygraph and aptitude tests. A lot of law enforcement jobs require previous l.e. experience, military, college, and are pretty competitive.
To get their feet wet young rookie white cops are thrown on mids the hood to pop their cherry. Then when it is time, they are given the option to seek better zones.
A lot of cities sometimes lie in predominantly Latino and black areas. Making black cops only patrol black areas is going back to segregation.
My old friend was a female black cop. She hated it. She lost sleep, was treated badly because she was a "uncle tom" "whitey lover,"
She patrolled an area where there are 20 cruisers in 4 square miles.. So.. She quit and went to a college campus.
And... Cities and counties are getting rid of pensions and moving to 401k. Most pensions are bankrupting the cities. Why work for a Kmart retirement?
