I feel like the cops could have explained to him that they're placing him under arrest, or that they just need to talk, and that he needs to put his hands behind his back so they can cuff him.
They just sort of grab at him, he flinches, then they sort of sneak up and pounce on him.
He wasn't running. He was talking to them.. Why not talk it out a bit more instead of trying to make an aggressive move at an obviously huge guy like that?
I've seen lots of great cops talk people down. People get upset, it's an unsettling situation.. Give a guy like this a minute to process his choices and calm down. There was no real dangerous element here.
Classic case of minor problem turning into many major problems because of bad decisions on both sides.
