It's quite the ecosystem. Newspapers and media are being bought by outfits like Google or are increasingly beholden to them to keep the lights on. Indy journalism and citizen media, expert blogs, etc. are probably less constrained by market forces, and at times are held in esteem by consumers... who share similar interests.
As far as established media at the shows, I think you mostly see reporters from local Las Vegas papers who like the "tee hee, porn comes to town story". They then can sell you folks google adwords traffic back next to those stories about you.
Journos in town and still stuck after CES, or maybe in town for the SHOT show queue up and get AVN press passes, but how many sit through the panels and report how FTC regulations on porn might also effect outdoor mags and firearms publications, online marketplaces for police and military hardware?

Actually quite a few do , as does AVN and XBIZ has their own coverage as well. FUBAR works with both of them, as well as European publications. Best of luck with your venture
