With so much attention directed at the Congressional report on CIA torture, many people will have missed the important story about complaints this week made by US employed thugs in Syria who are outraged that the CIA has suddenly stopped paying their salaries and suspended arms deliveries to them.
Naturally, Empire media outlets portray these thugs as being part of the "moderate opposition," but have nevertheless let slip the fact that with their CIA stipend of $150 a month being cut off, already "as many as 800 to 1,000 fighters from US-vetted rebel groups already have joined Nusra."
This fact, along with further claims that the 8,000 affected thugs will end up joining al- Nusra Front or ISIL in order "to feed their families" speaks volumes about just how moderate they are and about what the true underlying motives of many ISIL and al-Nusra thugs.
According to a report by McClatchy DC, (a brand operated by the publicly traded McClatchy Company newspaper and media group) 8,000 of the estimated 10,000 fighters in Syria?s Idlib and Hama provinces are affected by the cut off in funding, adding that "Commanders said CIA operatives told them the cutoff was the US response to the Nusra gains, which have included the seizure of US-supplied weapons from moderate rebel forces in recent weeks."
