Many errors on that list. Guitars have been around since the 1200's in Spain, and peanut butter was invented by a Canadian sometime around 1850. And that's just two off the top of my head without researching anything.

I'm pretty sure that fountain pens have been around since the 1600's and probably even earlier than that. And why would anyone believe that lanterns and locks weren't invented until the 1800's? I guess people before then had all their stuff unsecured and fumbled around in the dark.
