its more real in that there is no way to just walk away from that lifestyle and live 'happily ever after'. he tried time and time again to get 'out' but got sucked back deeper each time. the only way to get out was to no longer exist, or at least that's how he saw it.
him righting those wrongs and cleaning up loose ends may of been outside the realm of reality but the point was that he was sacrificing himself for the things he loved, his club and his boys and in his mind, making the things he made wrong, right.
