It's not just porn... It's music, movies, photos, etc
I'm a shooter and my philosophy today towards the porn industry is "If somebody wants to pay me to photograph/film sex then I'll do it. But I don't care what happens to the footage as I'm no longer actively looking for work in porn."
I started out as an events photographer and even that field has become hell to make a buck in. Everyone has a cell phone, tablet, etc... Everyone is snapping photos... But no one gives a shit and no one is looking at the footage these days.
Where I make my money these days is from weddings, baptisms and so forth. But again it's a dying field because everyone has some sort of camera and less people are getting married each year. In fact I would have closed shop and called it quits if it wasn't for the fact that I'm able offer Collodion photography and it keeps a certain interest in my skills. However the writing is on the wall so in the next 2-5 years I'm going to call it quits and retire.
