I think when you have big money, and a lot to lose, behind a schema like how Google and Netflix have gotten behind HTML5, that the video encryption security will be maintained.

The code and methodology would be open source (I would think (hope for)) and would be applied to licensed content mp3 -- that would include music videos too ... the Youtube solution? It is interesting that Chrome is the leading the charge and I am looking for the ulterior motive ...

For copyright owners this is a big move forward and I am guessing there is a lot of interest.

For us, encrypting live cam streaming and the obsolesce of Flash is a big deal appearing very doable in the near future.
