I have both. I would say the ps4 is better. Every time i turn on the xbone to try to play a game I have to do a system update and a game update which takes 30-40 minutes.
Both consoles update their software often, and when you begin a new game most likely there are a few updates for that game as well. So this can go either way
PS4 has better resolution and framerate. Resolution its pretty hard to tell the difference between 900p and 1080p, but framerates on xbone I've found to be sub-par.
PS4 has more exclusives, and if you subscribe to PS+ for $40/year you get a bunch of free games every month.
