In my teens, workin' late at a local lumber yard - moving large lifts of drywall around in the storage warehouse with a forklift. Someone out in the yard shouted for me to come over and help out with one final customer.
Not thinking, I began backing the forklift out the door (quickly) with the forks raised about a foot above the concrete floor. Unfortunately, the door header was lower than the hydraulic mast on the forks - and I nailed the header pretty hard with the upper fork stage.
End result - I tore out a triple 2x12" - 18'foot long door header beam, along with the door track. Worst of all, it was at the end of a long, tiring day...and several of us had to stay about three hours to rebuild the door header, reinstall track and fix the door.
Haste makes waste...in this case.
