The only person suggesting vigilante actions, or really any need to intervene at all is you. It's like you're totally confused and have no idea what's going on. Are you SURE this isn't baddog posting?
Personally, I know the difference between a dog in actual distress and a dog unhappy or anxious about being in a crate.
