What I do is check out the band name on Wikipedia and scroll down to discography. I do this a few times a year, keeps me pretty up to date with new releases. Add new discoveries (for me) to the list and I have a never-ending hand-picked collection of music that is now about six months' worth of non-stop listening.
I do the same thing with Wikipedia. End of last week I went there and searched for new releases for 2014. I think 'Albums Released In 2014" and there was this huge list broken down by month. I was amazed about 9 of my old favorites had released CDs in 2014!! So I went and downloaded them. 7 out of the 9 sounded like old farts trying to sound young. LOL
