The same reason Republicans sign grover norquist's no tax pledge.. Because they are expected to do so because they are Republicans and if they don't they get shunned then targeted by the attack dogs..
If Obama doesn't play fiddle with someone like Sharpton, then he gets shunned by the blacks and then gets targeted by their attack dogs.
This is why big money needs to be removed from politics, political doners have far too much control over Washington and the state's for that matter,
