They say they want to charge a $100/month surcharge, which I don't really see an issue with. At the moment the panels feed the grid and any excess that they collect is sold off to the utility company and they have to maintain the grid. The alternative for a homeowner is some way to store the energy they collect, which as I understand is quite expensive.
