There are all kinds of reasons people can be overweight. People eat more fast food or fried food than fruits and vegetables. Everything, everything, has too much sugar in it, etc.
Do this : Try to cut down on portions, and swap out a meal of meat and potatoes for a salad once in a while. Get out of your webmaster chair and go for a walk at least once or twice a day. As you start to feel better, turn that walk into a jog or other activity. You'll start to feel a lot better pretty quickly, and the extra exercise, fresh air and sunshine will even have a positive effect on your mood.
I also strongly suggest that you pickup one of those Nike Fuel band gadgets. If you're a webmaster you're probably already glued to your stats. A fuel band gives you lots of stats about how you move and you'll begin to appreciate it fast.
