If a female had anxiety issues giving interviews and she was bullied financially and publicly humiliated by an organization then there would be an uproar and sponsors would end their business relationships. But of course men are second class citizens and and therefore cannot be victims. Men are much less likely to be considered victims of domestic violence and they do not have the same compassion extended to them as females in most situations.
It is nice to see humans are beginning to evolve and treat men as actual human beings.
12th Man to NFL: Stop 'bullying' Lynch over media interviews | Local & Regional | Seattle News, Weather, Sports, Breaking News | KOMO News
SEATTLE - A petition from a Seahawks fan asks the NFL to revise its media policy so that Marshawn Lynch does not have to talk with reporters after a game.
The petition was posted Sunday on GoPetition.com and had more than 14,500 signatures by Tuesday morning.
The fan's petition says Lynch has a "very obvious anxiety" interacting with the media. And, since the NFL advocates against bullying and domestic violence it shouldn't force its players into uncomfortable situations and "bully" them with fines.
Lynch has been fined $100,000 for not talking to the media at times over the past two seasons. Recently he has answered questions by saying, "Thanks for asking" or "I'm thankful."
Here is the text of the petition, as posted on GoPetition.com:
“As a 12, I am calling on the NFL to revise its media policy so that all players are given equal and fair rights as a human being without fear of financial intimidation.
As a fan, I have witnessed enough harassment and undeserving consequences regarding Marshawn Lynch due to his very obvious anxiety interacting with the media. I feel, and many agree, that what you are doing is wrong. You advocate against bullying and domestic violence, but force your players into uncomfortable situations? With a fine attached? There are other players willing to talk to the media and it should be a personal choice.
Your rules state "Reasonable cooperation with the news media is essential to the continuing popularity of our game and its players and coaches." I don't feel your rules are reasonable as they read currently, considering the only benefit "popularity" wise the NFL gets by bullying Marshawn is money out of his paycheck. This is not ok. And it needs to change because its unnecessary and cruel, as well as hypocritical.
Enough is enough!”
