Did you read the story? She never says she was paid for sex. Same old song as any escort on the record, payment is for companionship only. We all know that's just BS to get around prostitution statutes.
No one believes for a minute that they didn't both know sex was part of the deal, so the no condom refusal makes far more sense. But that would be admitting to prostitution.
