It might be an important argument for the sake of knowledge. But, doing something about it could be very important for the sake of future generations. That knowledge is worthless without anyone to share it with. It seems these days people only want to argue instead of acting.

But if the trees decomposed, there has been some even that caused those to die? Shouldn't that event be counted as a responsible too, or as the main reason?
I didn't say anything about arguing, I was referring to knowledge. You know, from some guys who actually study these things.
Acting based on that information is important too.
