Remember, many hosting companies does not give you IP-addresses any more just like that.
Example Hostgator and many other requires this:
"All dedicated IP addresses may only be ordered if they will be used with a fully signed SSL certificate (this includes private, multi-domain, wildcard and extended validation SSLs)."
