Violent video games, violent television and violent movies? When none of the above existed there was violence in the world anyway ... Violent TV or rap did not start the Crusades -- did it? Speech begat the violence -- historically.
So, let's all sit in a circle and sing "Kumbaya"
I don't see any real difference from the allegations that porn causes rape or [_*insert offense*_].
Hopefully, that California law will end up being nullified by the US Supreme Court -- that is where this belongs.

there is nothing wrong with the law but for sure the way they are interpenetrating it here. In the 80's or 90's there was a rap group called Blood's and Crip's. Those guys would be in a lot of hot water today.
To me the law was meant to not let rappers or anyone sing about real gangs in a way that glorified them and thus driving other young kids and people into it. But this guys lryics talk about guns and bullets but never mention any gangs or real life violence that they are trying to connect him to.
This guy either doesn't have a very good lawyer or is trying to make a name for himself to be in prison for all these months before going to court, cause any good lawyer could've gotten this thrown out before now.
