I know your heart is in the right place man but you are just reading news headlines and accepting them and any buzz worthy study as fact and that is extremely irresponsible... Aspartame is relatively harmless. This does not mean it is healthy to consume a tonne of it, it probably isn't--this doesn't equate to being harmful though. Any associations with weight gain and diet sodas are because morons are sucking down sandwiches and eating pasta and rice 3 times a week with 'low fat' sauces, not because of aspartame..
