Just imagine a company owning a taxi company with a fleet of cars, except there would be no drivers which account for majority of a fare's price. Then imagine it country wide/world wide/etc. It would be far cheaper to be transported by a self driving google car then to actually own a car
also you'd own/destroy the oil, transporation, and car industry all in one go... amongst other things

Yes, they are becoming too powerful. There is a reason the govt, before lobbyist ran everything, "used" to break companies up before they got "too big".
