It would be great if they became a country of their own; the more little countries the better. These days boutique countries do really well. It leads to more fluid banking, more exciting investment, better product focus. Russia is a good example, some oblasts view the central government as a far away planet. In Krasnodar Krai which contains Sochi, a friend of mine told me they have a hard time even getting direction from Moscow. USA, Canada and Brasil are a little different because they're all new world countries with less entrenched differences.
