I didnt start bowling until I was 12 but I was averaging in the 150's, by the time I was in my 20's I was averaging in the 190's but never could break the 200 barrier (average wise). Had 2 300's, which considering all the game I've bowled is not very impressive.
Of course that was back in the day when oil patterns and equipment didnt turn good bowlers into great bowlers. Back then it was rare to be on a league and have a 200 average bowler, nowadays its normal for there to be 3 or 4 200 average bowlers on a league.
