Last year as I was driving into town there was a car on the freeway in the other lane with a flat tire. I saw some kids and said to myself "I should stop, but I am so busy today". I got home a few minutes later, there is a urgent plea from help on a local FB group from this woman saying she's preggers and needs help with her flat. A friend of mine responded and took care of it. I felt bad and wished I did better.
A few weeks later there was another call for help on this local FB group. An older couple with health issues had their parents moving in with them, and needed help unloading a small u-haul. Myself and a few other guys responded, and we spent 45 minutes helping strangers move some furniture into a rental place. One of the guys I met that day became a good friend.
