Agree with many of the posts above. It is slow.
Breaking Bad used many different, interesting, characters, most of whom evolved throughout the series and went through all the shades of black in front of us. Except for Jesse, who seemed to grow into a better person.
In contrast, Saul's eccentricity and situational ethics seem to amount to just one, long extended joke. And there's only so far that one joke will go.
It's hard to identify with any of the other characters - his older brother, a lawyer who's become a tin-foil-hat kook, the one dimensional lawyers at his brother's old firm, and the rest of the characters who are even less developed. I'm sure that Mike from Breaking Bad will become more interesting in time, but it's too slow in coming.
As a Breaking Bad fan, I'd really, really like this show to succeed. Truly. But for me, so far, it isn't working and isn't all that interesting.
