ok, if you are so stubborn "they" could be "mine".
well, they do it for various reasons.
bigger possibilities for their children on the west, its always nice when the kids know many languages and make new foreign friends..and so on
and as for the homes - its better to have home somewhere with nice weather than in some shitty rainy place.
and if you are rich, you may even have a house in rainy London, Moscow, and nice Italy, believe it or not
