BINGO!!! Blind party loyalty is bizarre to me.
Also, the reality is that the political spectrum is not just about left and right, there is also statist or non statist. With no recognition of that additional variance, you simply end up with parties that are all about making the government bigger, either in controlling business (the left), or personal life (the right). We have no representation of that entire other aspect of the political spectrum.
