Advertising uses emotion to sell their products, and maybe people buy cars to satisfy the craving those emotional ads generate, but I promise you that many people really look at the numbers before buying such an expensive item.
Think about one of the last computer items you bought. Was it a new monitor? Or a printer? Did you buy it just because it was sexy? Or did you read the specs and compare makes and models before making your purchase?

it's not an assumption. It's very simple logic. marketing tells you that by adding yet another car into the world (buying) an EV car, you are helping the environment.
**********, that is a marketing gimmick.
adding a car to the inventory of cars on the planet is green! of all things to believe.
