There are two kinds of people. Those who have had a racist thought...and liars.
But you can tell the difference between simple jokes -- which may not be harmless to the target -- but are still just jokes vs true hatred for other races. And like Kane said, a lot of the time people who are racist don't even know they are.
So I think there's a difference between saying something "racial" and being a true racist -- like those kids on that bus. You can bet they were raised to be this way, and it doesn't surprise me that it's in what is basically considered America's heartland. I feel bad for anyone who may have been caught up in that situation who didn't agree with what was going on. There had to be a few, or else how would the video have gotten out?
