The Constitution didn't say you had a right to own .223 ammo, just like it didn't say you had a right to own a suitcase nuclear bomb. The Constitution stated "arms" and it's up to the people & elected officials to determine which "arms" are appropriate to bare.

Obviously it's not appropriate for any citizen to own a nuclear warhead or a tomahawk missile. Much the same as the average person should not be walking around with an automatic machine gun.

These limits are set, because they are sensible and no, not being allowed to own them doesn't mean anyone is violating your constitutional rights. If the majority of "the people" do not want these things on the streets then they should not be on the streets.

This is the problem with guns and lack of regulations, right now everyone is held hostage by a small very vocal group of people whom think they should be able to do and own anything they want regardless of how that affects the majority of people.
