We're going to be hearing about it a LOT more. Unfortunately, a vicious circle has now been created.
With the coverage by the media, minorities all over the country are going to be more defiant of the police, some practically daring the officers to use force. Surely not everyone will go too far, but others are going to place themselves in harms way and the police under further scrutiny by the media, causing even more defiance from the general public. In some cases the cops will be justified. In others they won't. When you're life is potentially at risk from someone with seemingly no regard for their OWN life, the police sometimes only have a split second to assess the situation and react. It's easy to sit on our computer and judge these officers, it's another thing altogether to be on the street at 2am in this situation. Rinse and repeat.
No good can come from it. Things are only going to get worse.
