I don't understand why Clinton or anyone in government would use their own email address. No matter who you are, you are doing a job, and you have company (or in this case government) email. This removes any doubt of wrong doing, and security issues can no longer be blamed on you.
On the downside, your emails are all "company owned" and the person who replaces you has access to every email you ever sent out - and can use it against you. For example, right now a Democrat is in the White House, but in a few years it might be a Republican, and a Republican might be Secretary of State. This new Secretary of State would have access to every email Clinton sent out, and could be used to destroy her political ambitions at a later date.
At the same time, didn't Jeb Bush use personal email while he was governor?
