That is fine for a shed maybe but in a finished room -- the ceiling may move and crack if it freezes there and you have a snow load on the roof -- I think I recall that you said it did.

It's easy to fix now just cut out a drywall piece at the joints.

Side Nail them and use a few truss fasteners to bind them together at the top.

Then wrap them with trim wood or drywall and paint the wrapped beams.
