I know one guy who was serving in Russian peacekeeping contingent in Kosovo. The nearest KFOR base was American. He told there was a mutual support agreement between those bases, and hat US guys were extremely accurate. Their choppers always came to help... in exactly 30 minutes after the last shot. He said it doesn't matter how long the fight against Albanian Muslims least - 10 minutes or two hours, Russian soldiers could always synchronize their watches by the brave American "support" arrival
He told me many other interesting stories. For example, there was some joint operation and the group was need to cross some small river. The American soldiers said hey won't follow the order because water is "too cold for swimming"
So after familiarity with the US soldiers, they started to call them "
pindos". There is many explanations where this word has came from, but it became popular here right after the Yugoslavian war conflict. Just FYI and nothing personal, of course.
