All economical sanctions always work for a long term. Is they don't, they are just a giglet. Let me tell you "a secret". Ruble has started dropping a long time before the so-called "sanctions". It was falling since the end of 2013, and when oil prices depreciated twice in 2014, ruble has seriously dropped as well. But how it could be related to the Obama's speech about "Russian economy which is torn to pieces"? He is a master of twaddle (there is no doubt about it) who can't do anything for real. The "torn to pieces" economy can't recover up to 20% for a couple of months, especially if "sanctions" were not lifted during that time. Otherwise those sanctions simply don't work. I thought it's just obvious...
