As it's already been said,
Any girl making serious money is busting her ass promoting herself on social media, has her own site, etc.. etc... etc...
So why would such a girl need the cam site? She's already doing all the work.
She can get her own payment processor and there's certainly more than enough webcam software available. After all she's doing all the work promoting herself so why would she want to cut anyone in on her earnings? There's lots of examples of smart hard working girls that have done it in the past and I'm sure the "TOP Models" are doing it today.
So ultimately all this is about is the cam sites having just found another way to get free content and monetize it. So really not all that different from tube site and this is why the hostility to paying the girls straight wage for their work.
Plus I also think I remember one porn chick telling me how she was paid to attend a convention and say she was earning several thousand each week doing webcams. That's the funny thing about porn performers... They'll say anything you want for a couple of hundred bucks.
