I'm going to call it now. This is my best guess

Amber/Tammy is a made up girlfriend (That was obvious), but she was made up well before this scam. This part is sad, but probably what happened was that his family would be on his case for not having a girlfriend at age 40 (shit happens) and he made her up so he wouldn't feel pathetic, since his brother has a wife and kids etc. If she does happen to somehow be real, she is probably a cyber girlfriend and that's why there are no pics of her with him etc. That is doubtful though, and she most likely does not exist because her location says she lives in the same city that he does, so she is probably just a fake identity. This would explain the lack of pictures of them together, or pictures of her with the family or anything along the lines of proof.

The mom is most likely not involved in this, and probably believes "tammy/amber" actually exists, and he most likely convinced her to make a post mentioning her last night to "cheer tammy/amber" up

In conclusion, tammy/amber = yngwie and the mom probably thinks she's a real person
